Match Report
Marldon completed the "double" this season over familiar "rivals" Taverners after a hard fought win by 6 sets to 4.
A 10.30 finish, only one set decided in 3, 15 games going to deuce but in the end Marldon won the majority of the important points to settle the result.
However, Martin, for the second home match running, was "Man of the Match" with another maximum. This time it was even more creditable as Martin was using a new bat rubber.
Until she played Martin, Helen was very impressive with her consistent attack to the fore, Dave played well throughout with his trademark and reliable backhand prominent and last but not least Nigel who having lost narrowly to myself after a fine fightback went one better by winning in 5 against Colin to win an important point for his team.
Colin may have had a "rare" blank evening but certainly had his moments and should not be too disappointed with his performance. As they say, there is usually another match coming up soon!
An enjoyable evening of table tennis played in the usual sporting manner between our 2 teams.
