Match Report
NA Merlins travelled to Brixham for there first match of the season and were happy to come away with a hard fought draw. They started well going in to a 2-0 lead, then lost 5 of the next 6 games to find themselves 5-3 down, but fought back well to take the final singles and doubles to earn a deserved draw.
Brixham’s young Joe Edwards had an impressive debut winning two and only just losing out to Eve James. The not so young Newton Abbot pair of David Olver & Marc Winstanley both picked up a singles win each in their first ever league match and David joined Eve to take the final doubles to secure the draw. James Rodger was man of the match winning all 3 of his singles. Marilyn battled well but didn’t have much luck losing in the 5th in her first two matches and in four against Eve in the critical last singles.
