Match Report
Last nights match once again demonstrated how competitive this Division is. In fact Division 2 over recent seasons has remained very competitive and rarely dull!!
After 2 wins against Marldon in our first 2 matches, Marldon took the upper hand this time and deservedly won 6-4 to cement their position in Division 2. Taverners also look secure for another season despite experiencing a few "wobbles" in recent matches!
No one dominated last night with 3 players winning 2 of their 3 sets but great credit to Dave for fighting hard throughout despite not being in the best of health recently.
Ed's form has picked up in the last few months and only fell short of a maximum by the narrowish of margins when I gained a rare win against Ed after a series of 11-9 games!
Helen is back playing regularily and remains her consistent self which will only enhance the Marldon team in their final 2 league matches.
Another excellent, hard fought and enjoyable evening of table tennis against friendly rivals!
