Match Report
Denbury Tykes lost their unbeaten record with a closely fought match against their close neighbours from Marldon.
The first two sets could have gone either way with Paul beating Ed 13-11 in the 5th, and Pat then losing 14-12 to Dave also in the 5th.
There were a total of 9 deuce games over the evening, with the match defining set being won by Ed in 5 (again deuce 13-11 in the 5th) against Huw giving Marldon an unassailable 6-2 lead.
Paul completed a very hardworking maximum, including out-foxing Helen beating her in 4, and then partnering Pat in the doubles again overcoming Helen, partnered by Ed in the doubles - not surprisingly this also went to 5 games!
A thoroughly enjoyable match against players who knew each other’s games well, and played in excellent spirit throughout!
Well done to Marldon on a deserved win on the night!
