St Chads laid down their division one title marker with a stunning 6/4 win at Mount. 21 year old British Championship League player Josh Weatherby beat Jamie Dent, Oliver Ho and Veteran England International Andy Wilkinson. Weatherby, a coach at the Friday night Beacon of Light sessions and who has played as a junior in China and Europe, was supported by two more from the impressive Youssef Hussain who suffered only his first defeat of the season when he lost in three to Wilkinson. Gateshead Mount’s first league defeat since 2021 leaves the East Herrington side in second place and the first division title race wide open. Last season’s runners-up Brandon Air had too much for West A in an 8/2 romp. Player of the match Jamie Lupton kept his unbeaten season in tact with Jamie Westwater and Luke Dumighan each taking home a brace. Neil Wilkinson again scored two valuable points for West at Chester Road. Brandon Devils beat Lanchester Praetorians 8/2 to go top of three. Syd Gooding was unbeaten and Stephen Verde and Simon Kirkham added two each for the home side. Ashbrooke A travelled to Stanley and defeated Backspin D 8/2. Ann Derbyshire secured a vital point with player of the match Keith Mitchinson and Ray Hall unbeaten. Alfie Belton, who has played up in division one for their A side, starred for East Boldon C in their 9/1 home win over Lanchester Cohorts.
