Will McCallum led his East Boldon side to only their first win of the season at home to high flying Brandon Outlaws who suffered only their second reverse of the campaign. Newly promoted Boldon debuted two new signings - juniors Dorian Cheung and Charl Myburgh, who both beat veterans Dave Brown and Peter Flowers. Match of the night was McCallum versus Adam Watson. In-form Brandon junior Watson, who trains at the Ormesby TT Academy, was edged out in five by the experienced Boldon man. At Kayll Road in the St. Gabriel’s derby, the wait for a first B team victory continues when they were held 5/5 by their A team.The B’s Jason Gargett won all three matches against Ken Lee, George Gibson and John Williamson and in the doubles with Gary Anderson lost 2/3 against Gibson and Williamson to deny his side. Mount True Roof extended their lead at the top with a 9/1 win at last seasons runners-up Brandon Air - Jamie Lupton grabbing the home team’s consolation. David Lloyd Tigers surprised a weakened second placed St. Chad’s side 6-4 when Philip Suetterlin won all three and Lynne Herrington two plus the doubles with Suetterlin. Other result in one - Unionist A 9 West A 1.

Mount went 11 points clear with a game in hand at the top of division two with a 10/0 home win over Unionist B. Charlie Mouzon again was player of the match with brothers Scott and Sam Nicholson also unbeaten. Old England Legends were without Dave Godbold and Graham Sleep at Durham University and paid a hefty price in an 8/2 defeat. Phil Bowden and Howard Brown got consolations for the Legends - the Durham students, who have games in hand, remain unbeaten and have Mount, the Legends and the Brandon Crusaders looking over their shoulders at the top. Other results in two - West B 7 Wild West CA 3, Brandon Crusaders 6 Backspin B 4, St Gabriel’s C 4 East Boldon B 6, Durham Tornadoes 5 Brandon Energy 5.


Second placed Brandon Jets hosted third placed David Lloyd Ninjas in league three and won 7/3. Sam Dale (3) was supported by two from Jude Warner and one from Jamie Pattinson - Edward Coxon scored twice and Dan Sanderson once for the Sunderland side. Brandon Devils stayed top with a 6/4 away win at Backspin C. Simon Kirkham, David Lennon and Syd Gooding each scored a brace - unbeaten Debbie Irwin took player of the match for the Stanley team. It finished a 5/5 draw in the Ashbrooke derby - Keith Mitchinson was player of the match for the B side with Bob Gibson also scoring twice - Alasdair Campbell and Alan Thompson with a pair each and Keith Remmer with one replied for the A team.
