After their fine win last week at West A, St. Gabriel’s A crashed back down to earth in a 0/10 reverse at home to last seasons’ champions and the new league one table toppers Mount True Roof. Neil Herrington’s man of the match performance was complimented by new signing Oliver Ho’s hat trick and three from skipper Anthony Ainley. At East Herrington, Joshua Weatherby, back from last weekend’s British league match in Nottingham, starred for St. Chad’s as they smashed 9 sets past a strong South Shields Unionists A side. Youssef Hassan debuted and hit a three maximum for Chad’s to lift them to second in the table with Keith Weatherby adding two more. Richard Wilson scored for Unionists. Junior Harry Todd, promoted from last season’s division three, made his division one bow and beat Gabriel’s seasoned Gary Anderson as DL Tigers edged out St. Gabriel’s B 6/4 at Kayll Road. Other results in one - Backspin A 3 West CA A 7, Burnmoor 3 Brandon Outlaws 7, Brandon Air 7 Durham Aces 3.

 

In Division Two, Tony Watson returned to league action for St. Gabriel’s C and beat Kye Bradley at Durham Tornadoes - Joe Muldowney won three and Stephen Young added two more for the Sunderland side. Graham Sleep and Dave Godbold were again unbeaten and Phil Bowden added the other two when Old England Legends hit top spot at home to Wild West CA - Declan Kelly taking a point home for the visitors. Other scores in two - Brandon Crusaders 7 East Boldon B 3, Mount 10 Lanchester Centurions 0.

Division 3

Alan Thompson and Keith Remmer were unbeaten when Ashbrooke B made their longest trip of the season to Lanchester and saw off the Cohorts in an impressive 9-1 victory to take them joint top of the new division three table with the Brandon Devils who hammered their sister team the Topspinners 10/0. Simon Kirkham, Paul Lupton and man of the match David Lennon did the damage for the Devil’s.
