Match Report
West CAC welcomed Unionist B to our home, but they took advantage of this and beat us 8-2 and with a bit more luck I think West could have a couple more sets.
It started so well when Jason Gargett overcome Ray Purves in 3 ends, then Michael Hepworth lost to Jamie Westwater in 3 ends and Alan Whitwham showed his brilliance against the evergreen Dave Bannon for nearly 3 games only for the old fox to win the 3rd end 11-9 and went on to show his class to win the last 2 games. Michael then beat Ray in a hard fought 5 ender, but I think Ray’s mind was on his holiday which he was about to take, this made it 2-2 and that was as good as it got for West.
With that foxy Dave winning 3, Ray 1 and the doubles with Jamie who also won his 3 singles which made a good night for them, well played.
The Player of the Match who floated like a bee and stung like a butterfly was Jamie Westwater, so well done Jamie.
The match started on time but finished about 10.15 pm but the bar was only 15 seconds away and I must say it was an enjoyable and thanks to Unionist for the part they played, dam them.
Gan Canny,
Alan
