At the start of the season West CA C had high hopes of having a good year but my boys and myself have tossed to many points away and found ourselves in relegation yet again, but WE WILL BE BACK.

Last night St. Gab’s D came to town to inflict a 7-3 defeat on West and we even had big old Vic Austin back after his heart operation though he did not win any sets it was great to see him back playing.

Howard McCain was back playing in the league after many years and was unlucky to meet Alan Whitwham on the rare occasion this season when he played 3 ends when his backhand was on. He pushed Jason Gargett close but he did beat Vic and also overcome Alan and Jason when he played with Gary Anderson in the doubles.

With Gary winning 2 and David Snowdon 3 it completed a bad night for West, the Player of the Match was a hard choice between me and lucky David Snowdon but I am a modest man so it goes to David and well played that man.

So this is my last report of the season and I would like to thank all my team and also a big thanks to all the other teams for in the good spirit in which they played.
