Match Report

Backspin C V Magic

It was a new venue at Backspin for the visit of Magic, but the travelling team of Luke, Peter and Ross were welcomed by Graham Keith and Robert into a lovely, warm, well lit venue with really comfortable chairs.

Backspin C are mainly composed of returners and have a superb attitude to the game, all playing good competitive games and providing stiff opposition but no tantrums and plenty of positive comments about the standard of play. As usual  Peter bored them to death and by playing side to side took his games only dropping one end against the very consistent play of Graham Burton, who scored the only success for backspin against Ross,

Luke took all three games with his powerful play and forehand drives but Ken Greatbatch gave him some problems with his back hand drives.

Ross is getting better every game and although he struggled against Graham he had his best match against Robert Cook which he eventually won by the narrowest margins in the 3rd end.

Another good night for Magic against a lovely team who they overcame 9-1.
