All games but 1 were completed in 3 ends and this was typified in the first game where George Daley from St Gabriel’s beat Peter Whitfield from Magic with two games going to 12-10, Luke Dumighan won the second one for Magic against Derek Buller. Declan Kelly is proving to be a reliable performer for St Gabriels when he beat dubutant Nikolay Kirillov in his very first competitive game. Games went one way and another but all at three ends, including the doubles where Viv Ford put up a solid performance but couldn’t stop the power of Luke leading Magic to the win. The best game of the night was Derek Buller v Nikolay Kirillov, Derek is one of the most difficult payers to play against with his accurate returns from distance but Nikolay played a very tactical game, starting the attack with a slow flick to put topspin on and then build up to a ferocious attack, which gave him the advantage to take the match 3-1. Luke Dumighan was MVP leading to a Magic 7-3 victory.
