Match Report
Its such a pleasure to go to East Boldon with so many positive volunteers, officiating games they aren't playing in, making tea and coffee for visitors, and they have so much good crack you miss most of the game you want to see.
On show tonight were two of their brightest talents James Booth who has so far only lost one game in the league and Freddie Wrintmore who is shaping up to be really special, supported by the evergreen Colin Byers.
They got off to a good start taking the first two matches with James beating Vince Sanderson followed by the game of the night that went to 2-2 and then 12-10 with the last two points won by net touches with Freddie beating Ross Clenell. Luke Dumighan was up against Colin who had no answer to his powerful attacking play and with Vince winning the 4th match the score was 2-2 . The doubles was taken by Luke and Vince and then Luke won the next game to give Magic a 4-2 lead but then Colin pulled one back but with Luke and Vince taking the next two, Magic reached 6. James won the last game giving a 6-4 win to Magic, but loads of compliments all round by two really sporting teams. Thanks to William Walton et al for their warm welcome.
