Match Report

Magic v Centurians
It was August 1977 when I first met Terry Charlton, but I didn't realise at the time we would become friends much later. He was playing football for Garden Farm, Chester Le Street, in the Wearside League in a friendly match? against Wolsingham SW the powerhouse of the Auckland and district team, who I was having a trial for. Needless to say Terry was tricky and fast, I got my butt roasted and didn't get a place in the team and had to settle for Tow Law YC. At long last retribution, as Magic needed some special dust to keep the pressure on Lanchester Auxiliaries and Brandon Joules. Magic came together and in a very competitive and friendly match Magic took all points and I beat Terry. Luke also took his revenge on Adam Bell who had earlier beaten him in the Handicap Cup. So honours are now even.
