It was a cold winters evening at Freemans Quay, unusually  as it is normally fairly warm, maybe the energy crisis is taking its toll on the Council and they are having to knock the thermostat down. St Gabriels D must have warmed up well, as Geoff Young Dave Revell and Ken Tweedy took the first end in each of their respective games, however Luke Dumighan, Ian McPherson and Jeff Mckenna all came back to win all three and then Ian completed the first half giving Magic a 4-0 lead. The doubles with Ian and Luke playing Dave and Geoff was the longest of the match and at 2-2 with Magic 9-7 in front it looked like they would take that as well, but Dave and Geoff clawed back the next 4 points to take the doubles.

Luke's power is proving formidable in the 2nd division but he is certainly troubled by resolute defence and Ken beat him in three, Magic took the next three and Dave Revell took the last game to leave the result 7-3 to Magic.
