Match Report
This week West CAC captain, Alan Whitwham, played his master plan against the newly name changed team Burnmoor Cricket Club B. With great cunning he pulled off a great 1st victory of the season, and his master stroke was to drop himself from the team.
The Cricketer’s number 1 Steve Brown had a good night when he beat Howard Forster in 3 ends and overcame the in-form Magic Mick Redfearn in a tense set winning 11-5 in the 5th end. Then he teamed up with Mike Routledge to defeat Mick and Alan in the doubles. Cometh the hour cometh the man when Declan ( Chainsaw) Kelly showed his hitting power by beating Steve in 3 ends and overcame Mike and the young Jack Malik. Howard and Mick backed him up by winning 2 sets each. A special praise must go to Jack even though he never won a set some of Jack’s hitting was good, so keep the good work.
So, Player of the Match was Chainsaw Kelly, so well played Declan, and my plan to play him before me showed my self- sacrifice paid off, well done me.
