Match Report
Welcome to my last report of the season, which has been very disappointing for West CAC and for various reasons our results have not come up to our expectations, but we carry on regardless.
Brandon Fire were the team we faced and are going for the double against West CAC, but the team of Declan Kelly, Magic Mick Redfearn, Howard Forster and Alan Whitwham were looking for revenge for a 6-4 defeat.
Declan led the way by beating the old, but handsome Keith McKenzie, in 4 ends and then Howard, the Silver Fox overcame Gordon Mitchell 3-0, this brought big Chris Leishman who showed us why he was Player of the Match in the reverse fixture when with strong shots he defeated Magic Mick in 3 ends. West were back on track with the Silver Fox winning 3-1 against that nice Mr Keith, after that the highlight of the match was Alan teaming up with Magic Mick in the doubles against Chris and Keith in a hard fought set the West pair won the 5th end 11-7. The Sunderland side were on a high and nearly won the rest of the sets, but for that man Chris who beat the Silver Fox over 4 ends all which were deuce, so well played Chris, and a good effort by the rest of the Brandon team.
Yet again Player of the Match was Chainsaw Kelly, so well played Declan who has improved this season , and was probably West best player, keep going.
I wish to thank all my team, and all the other players in the league it has been a pleasure, even when I lost, and finally could I say to all who read my reports that I hope it brough a little joy into your lives.
A big thanks to Margaret, my lucky wife being married to me since 1966, with her translating my gibberish into English so you can read without having a headache.
Gan Canny,
Alan, I’m still here, Whitwham.
