On Monday September 25th, 2023, will be known as the Miracle at West CA from that day on, when Trevor Teasdale won his 1st and 2nd games in 5 years by beating Chainsaw Kelly and the ever-beatable Alan Whitwham, plus he also teamed up with Michael Karczewski in the doubles against the 2 players of West CAC he beat in the singles. The match started well for The Unionist when Dave Bannon overcame Chainsaw and then Michael defeated Alan in 4 ends, then West fought back when Michael Hepworth won against Trevor and Alan showed some of his old skill when Dave lost in 3 sets. Michael H won his next 2 games and Michael K took the last game of the night against Chainsaw Kelly. The away side had victory against West 6-4, so well done The Unionists, but The Player of the Match went to the home side when The Yorkshire Terrier Won all his games, so well played Mr Hepworth.
That day will be known as Saint Trevor’s day in South Shields, but Black Monday in Sunderland.
