Match Report
I bet you are wondering what went right when West CAC overcame Durham City Magic 6-4; well it was a great tactical move by me in dropping myself from the team. A greater sacrifice no man can give for his team, and it worked. It did not look good when Jeff McKenna beat Michael, the Yorkshire Terrier, 5 ends, and this was followed by Ian McPherson showing his class when defeating Howard, the Silver Fox, 3 games to 1. Chainsaw Kelly give the home side hope by winning in 3 ends against Ross, with his hat back to front, Clennell, but then Jeff restored their 2-set advantage beating Silver Fox. Not looking good for the home side at that moment.
The fight back started when Yorkshire Terrier and Chainsaw succeeded in winning against Ian and Ross in the doubles, and then West went on to win 4 of the last 5 sets, so well done the team.
Ian lost his last 2 sets against Chainsaw Kelly and Michael both over 5 ends, hard luck Ian and praise must go to Ross even though he never won a game he kept on playing his strokes, and to Silver Fox who won a game for West.
Player of the Match, this goes to Jeff McKenna who won all his games, so well played Jef. The top scorer on was Alan Whitwham, so well done me.
Gan Canny,
Alan, unbeaten on the night, Whitwham
