West CAC once again travelled to the outer region of humanity to take on the dashing Crusaders of Brandon.   Michael the Yorkshire Terrier and Chainsaw Kelly, had dragged along old Alan, the Pitman’s son, because we are getting desperate for players.

The match started well for West when Chainsaw overcame John Bainbridge in 3 ends, then the Yorkshire Terrier, after losing the 1^st game to the evergreen Alan Parry, won the next 3 ends to give the Sunderland City slickers a 2-0 lead.

The Pitman’s son came on to face the man from Surry, Ken George, who easily defeated him 3-0, and so the rot began when the away side lost the next 5 sets. Chainsaw Kelly put a halt to the bad run of games by beating the Surrey man in a great game over 5 ends when the Kelly Kid took the 5^th end 11-8. The Yorkshire Terrier lost to John in another 5 games to give the home side a 7-3 win, well done the Crusaders for a good win for them.

Player of the Match was Ken George, so well played the man from Surrey.
