Match Report

Here we are again with another report. West CAC travelled to the Tyne to face the mighty Unionist B, with the 2 Karczewskis, Michael and the Godfather Dick, who was there to make sure that everybody knew he was in control. The rest of their team was made up of the tricky and athletic Ray Purves, and the legend who was Dave Bannon, and they faced the Yorkshire Terrier Michael Hepworth, Chainsaw Kelly, and Red Wine Whitwham.

Michael K overcame Chainsaw 3 sets to 0, but the Yorkshire Terrier beat Dave by the same score, in next set tricky Ray had hard 5 enders against Red Wine and won 11-9 in the 5th game, well played Ray. The boys from the Wear won the next 2 sets which included the doubles, with Chainsaw Kelly, and Red Wine played out a tough 5 games only coming through strongly to win the last end 11-6, but the fog on the Tyne lads won the next 2 to led 4-3.

The great fight back began when Wino saw off Dave, and then Chainsaw had a good win against Ray, and the Yorkshire Terrier was too strong for Michael K and easily defeated in 3 ends. It was a good night for the boys from Sunderland, and a poor night for South Shields, so bad luck Unionist and you put up a good fight and the game was played in good spirits as expected.

This was a good win for West, and Player of the Match could have been the Yorkshire Terrier or Chainsaw Kelly, to be honest both deserve it , so well played both my boys.

Gan Canny,

Alan, happy wine man who found the bottle opener, Whitwham
