The team from the West of Durham Backspin B arrived in Sunderland to play West CAC, and it was good to see the nice Luke Brown and an old foe Bob Park complete with his rubbers. I would also give a warm welcome to a new player on his 1^st appearance against us, the mighty Hakan Aslan who showed our team how good he is.

The 1^st set was Wino Whitwham against the giant Luke after losing 11-13 the 1^st end Wino fought back to take the next end 11-6, but the big man came through and won the next 2 games, it was a good effort by the West number 3, well played Luke.

Next up was the Yorkshire Terrier match against the hard hitting Hakan, this turned out to be the game of the night which went to 5 ends and some great table tennis played by both players on top form, the West man coming good to win 14-12 in the last end. Chainsaw Kelly fought hard against Bob and his rubbers, after a good start Chainsaw was worn down by Bob and lost in 5 ends, after that it went downhill for the home side, except for the Yorkshire Terrier who was too strong for Bob, and he won in 3 ends.

The only other set that West could have won was when the Yorkshire Terrier went 5 ends with Luke who came out on top.

The Player of the Match was Luke Brown, who was well supported by Hakan, and good old Bob, who played well, so Luke was the man we looked up to, so well done Mr Brown.
