Match Report
West CAC made the trek to the outer region of the league to Brandon were the lads faced the Devils looking to win and make it a double for the season.
Young and much improved Adam Watson led Paul Thompson and the quiet Syd Gooding trying to defeat the Yorkshire Terrier, Chainsaw Kelly, and old Wino Whitwham who was there to make the numbers up.
Adam showed how good he is when he took the 1st end 11-4 against Chainsaw, but Kelly fought back and took Adam to 5 ends before losing 11-7 in the last end, well played to both players who set the standard for the other players for the night. The quiet man, Syd took the 1st game against the Yorkshire Terrier, but Michael won the next 3 ends. This was followed by Wino overcoming Paul in 3 ends, it was left for Chainsaw to defeat Syd 3 games to zero, a good start for West.
Adam and Syd teamed up in the doubles to face Yorkshire Terrier and Chainsaw and it proved an excellent match which flowed to and fro, and the Devils won when they took the 5th end 14-12, a good game by both teams and well played.
Adam then well beat the old Wino man to bring the scores even, the boys from the city won the next 3 sets without dropping an end.
The game of the night brought Adam and the Terrier together with Adam attacking and Michael defending , it was a great match to watch, but it was Yorkshire grit that saw the Terrier come out on top 11-4 in the 5th end, well played by both number ones but it had to be only one winner on the night, well played Michael.
The Player of the Match, had to be the Yorkshire Terrier, so well played Michael and a word for Adam, well played just keep on with your practise and it will make you a better player.
A mention for Alan who won 2 games, a Meatloaf song goes 2 out of 3 ain’t bad, which is true.
Gan Canny,
Alan, 2 out of 3, Whitwham.
