A change of venue was no advantage for the Ashbrooke aged who despite putting up a good fight ended up losing 3-7. A good start by Chris against the awkward backhand demon, Gordon; just stopping a comeback winning 12-10 in the third end. Stiff resistance from Alasdair against MOM Ralph but to no avail and Burnmoor took the next 2 matches for a 3-1 lead going into the doubles. The sight of the fresh legs of Ashbrooke pair Ann and Keith must have been daunting for Mike and Gordon who promptly lost the first game. they recovered their composure and ran out 3-1 winners after a tight match. Chris stopped the rot with a very close win over Steve 'pimple' Brown but those pimples did for both Ray and Alasdair. Ray saved his best for last with a close win over Gordon. An enjoyable night rounded off by Ralph remaining unbeaten. Look forward to the return match.
