Western Vikings have lost their lead in the Regional Super 6 table tennis series where clubs from across the island have been split into five geographic areas. Each region field two teams of six players to compete in this round robin end of season tournament.

Our team of Tiernan Garvey, Leo Doyle, William Dalugdugan, Charlie Callow, Sophie Sheard & Lauren Allwright were joined by two Welsh girls Lucy Quin & Elizabeth Evans.

Western Vikings maintain their lead after the third round of the Regional Super Six table tennis series with 57 points after three matches. Northern Lights follow with 42 points from 2 matches. In third place are Eastern Eagles who have 34 points from two matches. Douglas Dynamos stay close behind on 30 but they have played a game more. Finally in fifth are Southern Stars who have 17 points after two fixtures.

Congratulations go to the Surestrike Ramsey Club as they finished the season on a very satisfactory note. Their C team won automatic promotion to Division Two last week. This week their D team avoided demotion to the Fourth Division and, to put the icing on the cake, the B team also won their play-off match and join their A team in Division One.

This week saw the final of three grand prix events in Division One of the Fun 88 sponsored IOM Table Tennis League. Sean Drewry, who won the last such event, is the recently crowned Senior Top 12 winner and he added another title to his tally by beating Malcolm Cummings in the third GP final.

Travellers A finished in the season in style eight points clear of the previous champions Copy Shop in Division One of the Fun 88 sponsored IOM Table Tennis League. At the other end of the division Tower A amassed just seven points and therefore will meet the runners up of Division Two in a demotion/promotion play-off.

Copy Shop A have been the champions every season since the Spring of 2010 but no longer. A slip up against Arbory gave Travellers A the title and they still have a game in hand in Division One of the Fun 88 sponsored IOM Table Tennis League.

The top two seeds, both of Travellers A met in the final where they had some good rallies however Mark Johnson the number two seed, based on league percentages, dominated the match to win in straight sets against Liam Chan and once again was crowned the Harold Wilcock hard bat champion.

Travellers increase their slender lead at the top of Division One in the Fun 88 sponsored Table Tennis League. Five points behind are Copy Shop A. With one game to go it looks like a new name will be etched on the winner’s shield.

Copy Shop scored big to close the gap to one point between themselves and Travellers A at the top of Division One of the Fun 88 sponsored IOM Table Tennis League.
Top spot has finally been taken off Peel A in Division Two. Tower B now stand three points and have a game in hand. Copy Shop B have temporarily moved off the bottom but have played an extra game.

Travellers A beat Copy Shop A 5/4 to slightly increase their lead at the top of Division One in the Fun 88-sponsored IOM Table Tennis League.
Tower B have almost caught up with Peel A at the top of Division Two. Tower are just three points adrift with a game in hand. Travellers B and Surestrike Ramsey B are also in the mix.

SEAN DREWRY WINS GRAND PRIX
Division One players competed in the second of three Grand Prix events in the Fun 88 sponsored IOM Table Tennis League. Copy Shop’s Sean Drewry, who is unbeaten in the league so far this season, emerged as the winner by beating the opening GP event winner Mark Johnson 11/3, 11/9, 12/10.

Strathallan suffered a heavy loss against their Division One rivals Travellers A, meaning their one week reign on top of the Fun 88 IOM Table Tennis League is over.

Strathallan rise to the top of Division One of the Fun 88 sponsored Table Tennis League followed closely by Travellers and Copy Shop in second and third respectively.
Peel A cling on to top spot in Division Two with Tower B just one point behind with a game in hand. Copy Shop B climbed off the foot of the table leaving Peel B to fall into bottom place.

In the top division of the Fun 88 sponsored Isle of Man Table Tennis League a close match between second-placed Strathallan and the defending champions Copy Shop enabled Travellers to leapfrog into within two points of top spot.
A slip up from the Division Two league leaders Peel A saw second-placed Tower B and Surestrike Ramsey B close the gap to ten and twelve points respectively. Both also have two games in hand over the table toppers.
