Pam Butcher has once again won a medal on the world stage.

Defending the over-85 title she won two years ago in Alicante, Pam this time had to settle for bronze at the World Veteran Championships in Las Vegas.

She was edged out in the semi-finals by Reiko Miyagawa of Japan, losing 16-14 in the decider as it finished 3-2 (11-7, 9-11, 9-11, 11-5, 16-14) in favour of her opponent, who went on to win the gold.

Our sincere best wishes are extended to Pam Butcher as she starts her quest to win another Over 85's World Title today. You can follow her progress by going to the Vet’s UK website and clicking onto the World champions site.

We have more sad news with the passing of Ken Walter who died following a short illness on 25th May.

Here is a link to more details of the proposal: Two Player Format

Please share your comments with the rest of the League in the forum:

JBL consists of 2 weekends in Derby. September and February. The venue, Derby Arena (velodrome) is the most amazing venue that I have ever been to and for Jake and the team to play there is just amazing. I was speaking to several other coaches and they said that Junior British League is the equivalent of Wembley for Football or Wimbledon for Tennis. This is the pinnacle of the sporting calendar for table tennis so you can now image the atmosphere.
