The season will commence week beginning 10 September 2018. There will be 9 teams in Division One, 11 teams in Division Two and 10 Teams in Division Three.

League matches will be played home and away against each other team in the division ( except Wigan Thunder who will play all matches at home) and at the end of these matches teams will be declared winners  and losers of each division.

Because of the discrepancy in numbers in each division, at the end of the league season, teams in Divisions 1 and 3 will have played less matches than those in Division 2 and there would be a gap at the end of their fixtures. To compensate for this, at the end of the league season, in Divisions 1 and 3, a SEPARATE "mini-league" will operate in those two divisions. The teams will be split into top and bottom of each division and will play each other team in their half once more. This may be a handicapped league which will be decided before the mini league commences. The results will not count towards the League Championship of the main division. An extra team is envisaged in Division 1 to make it two even splits.

It is intended that the pre season meeting to collect handbooks and pay league fees will be on 6 September 2018 at Hindley St Peter's but this will be confirmed in due course. This meeting will not carry a 12 point penalty for non attendance and one official from a club can collect books for other teams in the club.
