Division 2 League Report - 25th October 2018

Division 2 league report 14 October 2018 (by Nigel Griffiths)

With the season almost at its half way point the competition is hotting up for the single promotion place to league 1. The experienced Challock B team had led the table since the first week of the season but Challock C snatched the lead with a a 9-1 victory  this week over Ashford B, Darren Richardson and Nigel Griffiths winning 3 legs and Jamie MacDonald 2.

This could all change with the leading two teams playing each other this coming week

Rucking B are in 3rd place following an 8-2 victory over Sportsmen A, with Chris Cloake winning 3 and Mikes’ Galavan and Holiday two legs a piece.

Hamstreet A are still in contention after winning 7-3 at Postling B, Ben Brown winning 3 Martin Yeandle 2 and Anthony Bodle 1.

Teams are still adjusting to the new scoring format where the one doubles game also counts to the total and it makes for competitive action right to the end of each evening. Challock B and C lead the way with 4 extra points gained each in the doubles leg.

At the foot of the table it looks like being a 3 way fight to avoid the drop between Ashford B 20 points from 5 games, Sportsmen A  20 points from 6 games and and Postling B 20 points from 5 games.

In the averages Steve Smith and Cliff Ball of Challock B both remain unbeaten with 100% averages, followed by Darren Richardson on 93.3%, Nigel Griffiths on 83.3% and Ben Brown and Mike Holiday both on 73.33 %

It is all to play for through until the Christmas break
