Weeks seven and eight

 

A busy evening at Tipps Cross concluded with Brentwood losing all 3 home matches. In the premier league Billericay C won 10-0 against the B team, Neil Freeman leading the way by dropping just one set. Navestock made the short trip to the neighbours and left with a 8-2 victory over the A team, Rick Klein again starring. To cap the evening the C team lost by the same score to Mountnessing D in a division one clash.

Billericay A continued their apparent march to the premier league title, beating Mountnessing B 10-0. Second placed Buttsbury A thrashed Mountnessing A 10-0 in perhaps surprising result, Liam Squirrell taking the honours for Buttsbury. The closest match saw Sanjay Saptarshi squeeze past Reuben Okai in five sets.

Hutton Community A maintained their good recent form with a 7-3 win over Billericay D. A hat-trick from new signing Peter Barrett and 2 wins from Alex Ware saw Hutton home. Billericay D had greater success against Brentwood B, Kevin Smart and Collin Barham securing the win with a doubles success. Ricky Paris took player of the match honours for Brentwood with 3 singles wins.

There were two 5-5 draws in the premier league as Billericay B and Navestock ended the evening all square courtesy of a 12-10, 9-11, 11-1, 9-11, 11-8 doubles win for Billericay.  Brentwood A let a 5-3 slip as Mountnessing A took the point in a close fought doubles finale.

Premier League Table: Billericay A 58 points, Buttsbury A 52, both played 6.

 

In contrast to the premier league the first division looks like being a close run affair with just 11 points separating the top 5 teams.

Mountnessing C are the new leaders although Hutton Community B have a game in hand. Mountnessing picked up 5 points in a draw with Buttsbury B, Michal Rowe’s hat trick and a win a doubles made sure of the points. They went one better in defeating Buttsbury C 6-4, although Buttsbury’s Torsten Greenan took player of the match honours.

Hutton Community saw off Writtle A 7-3 with Charlie Ware outstanding for Hutton. Charlie clinched a narrow 9-11, 5-11, 11-8, 11-6, 15-13 win over Ian Hockley.

Writtle B is up to fifth in the table with a game in hand. Neil Wood and Ram Tam with hat tricks as the downed Mountnessing D 9-1. The match concluded with a gripping 11-7, 11-8, 11-13, 9-11, 11-9 doubles win for Writtle.
