At the Christmas break in the Hastings & District Junior Table Tennis League,

Unbelievable Tekkers (Emily Koester and Josh Fraser) lead the table having won all seven of their matches. Their smooth progress was only disturbed by fifth-placed Bangers & Smash but even then Tekkers held on to win 3-2 despite Tristan Hyland’s two wins for the losers.

The loss to Hyland was Koester’s only defeat of the season and she was also unbeaten in the 4-1 defeat of Lucky Edges, although taken close by Sacha Ward who won the consolation set for the losers.

Balls of Fury are in second place having lost only once but had two close shaves within a week. First Lucky Edges were edged out 3-2 despite two wins for Sacha Ward when Holli Ferguson and Kai Potter held their nerve to take the doubles.

Then Bangers & Smash were beaten by the same score with another maximum for Hyland and another doubles success for BoF.

The introduction of Tom Nguen helped Fiery Balls pick up two wins in which he recorded maximums. TT Demons were beaten 4-1, with Kelsey Burgess picking up a three-game win over Megan White for the Demons’ only success. Awesome Blaze got closer, going down 3-2 with Nguen and White needing the doubles for victory. Reece Lincoln and Henry Hemmett won one each for the Blaze.
