This has usually been a close match, as these two teams have finished similarly placed in this division for a couple of seasons. Youguang Pan made a fast start against Martin Johnson to win the opening leg, but Martin fought back to take it in four, but then it was back to all square as Xin Jun Wang beat Trevor McFarlane, also in four, before Martyn Ford eased past Wayne Howe in straight games. This set the pattern of the evening, as Xin Jun continued to pick up wins for the home team, in four games against Martin and three games against Martyn, whilst the Adeyfield trio picked up wins against Youguang and Wayne, although most were close at times, to leave the match at 6-3 to the visitors, prior to the doubles. Xin Jun and Youguang twice hit back from one game down to Martin and Martyn, to take it to the decider, with the Adeyfield pair edging through at 12-10 in the fifth, to take the match 7-3, but with Player of the Match honours going to Xin Jun.
