   Crown & Sceptre C   4 - 6   Adeyfield B

Eighth placed Crown & Sceptre C hosted their week 5 match without Alex Hamilton, although their fourth placed opponents, Adeyfield B, were also without a regular third player, due to holiday & work commitments, so it was Ian Cooper, Paul Bohknecht and Brian Burton, taking on Martyn Ford, Martin Johnson and Jon Summers.

Martyn & Martin put the away team 2-0 up with wins versus Ian and Paul, despite Paul taking the opening leg against Martin. The home team hit back as Brian took a close game against Jon in four, Paul beat Martyn and Ian beat Jon, again in four. Brian then went 2-1 up against Martin, but lost his way to lose in five, however Paul put the home team back in front (4-3) with another four game win over Jon. Unfortunately for the home team, that elusive first win did not materialise, as Martyn edged past a battling Brian in a tight encounter and Martin nudged the away team ahead, to take his winning streak to seven, with a win over Ian. Crown & Sceptre's pairing of Ian and Paul took the opening two legs in the doubles against Martyn and Martin, but the Adeyfield pair clawed their way back into it, to just take it in five, and seal a 6-4 win for the away team.
