NEWS - WEEK FOUR

In the first division, Rhyl A remain on top following a 30-2 victory over Craig-y-don A. Maximums here for both Eliot Platt and David Daniels. The greatest resistance was provided by junior Tom Bird who took two games from Glen Phoenix

 

Police A remain unbeaten and hold second spot in the division after a hard fought 23-18 win at the expense of Y Morfa A. No one player dominated, Andy Horton beat Brian Cooke over four games and James Wan in five but lost out to Tony Wan in another five-game thriller. Tony Wan in turn was thwarted by Chris Henderson who lost in yet another five-game encounter to James WanBrian Cooke beat both Chris Henderson and Jason Coe and teamed up with James Wan to take the doubles without losing a game and secure another victory for Police A.

 

Amlwch A lie third with a fixture in hand, they beat Llandudno 29-5. Both Paul Collins and Ian Ault achieved maximums. Andy Lunt and Graham Heath were able take a game from Keith WilliamsSteve Nicholls and Graham Heath won an exciting doubles encounter 11-9 in the fifth.

 

In the second division, several postponements resulted in only two fixtures this week. Trinity B is currently top of the pile following a 28-10 win over Craig-y-Don B. Both Alan Hopper and Andrew Chamberlain won their singles, Alan dropped one game to Keith Potter and Andrew dropped two to Keith and one to Bridget PrescottKeith Potter beat Rob Stewart but again came out the wrong side of a five-game thriller in the doubles.

 

Y Morfa B are up to second after beating Amlwch C 21-14. Emyr Owen secured a maximum for the islanders but Charlie Hadcock lost out in two five-games tussles to David Meadows and Steven DaviesDeio Rogers secured his first game of the season at the expense of Mike Trbojevic, but it was not enough to prevent a Y Morfa B victory.
