In the first division, second-placed Police A lost 20-24 to fifth-placed Henllan A. This was hard fought affair where half of the encounters were decided over five games. Brian Cooke lost all three of his singles in the fifth game. Roger Lee beat Paul Hulme in the fifth but lost out to Jonny Hughes in yet another five-game thrillerThe turning points in the tie was straight sets win by Paul and Jonny in the doubles and Sean Lucas beating Tony Wan also in three straight games.

Fourth placed Amlwch B beat third placed Trinity A 21-13. Trinity A could field only two players, Eddie Chan took a game from Andrew Lloyd and teamed up with Stuart Dearden but lost out in a five game doubles match. Stuart beat both Ben Sutcliffe and Andrew Lloyd in three straight games but lost out to Reg John in a four-game battle.

In the second division second placed Police B move to within eleven points of Craig-y-don A following a 21-12 win over Henllan BPeter Roberts was the ‘man of the match’ overcoming Melvyn Booker 13-11 in the fifth and winning his other games including the doubles with Kevin Evans without dropping a game. Kevin beat Iain McGillivray over four games and Chris Watkins in five before losing out to Melvyn 9-11 in yet another five-game match. Stan Wan also beat Chris over five games and Ian in three straight games but was no match for Melvyn.

Third placed Trinty B lost 15-20 to seventh placed Amlwch C. James Austen on debut proved to be the strongest player on the night, although he was taken to 11-9 in the fifth against John Lovegrove. In the game of the night, Andrew Chamberlain preventedCharlie Hadcock winning all his singles prevailing 12-10 in a fifth game decider.

Rhyl C beat Craig-y-don C 25-16, all of Peter Higgins games were five game affairs, he beat both Bill Wells and David Roe but found David Tyrell a step too far. He teamed with Taylor Tabiner but they lost the doubles in the decider. Steve Lowe won his singles dropping one game to both David Tyrell and Bill Wells. The fifth five-game battle witnessed Taylor Tabiner coming from two games down to beat Bill Wells.
