Having won just 4 points from our previous seven encounters with the champions elect  we approached this match with much trepidation.

We started brightly with me winning the opening set against Winston.
Fromt hereon in it was very much one way traffic for Comets with token resistance coming from myself and Ronnie.
I lost the opening set against Ian after leading 10-8 and Ronnie held game points against Laikram in the third before losing 16-14. He also won a set and lost another deuce against Winston.

And so we come to the doubles.
You would fully expect a Comets win, they having lost 3 of their previous 13 doubles while we had won only 3 of our previous 11.  The result showed that the best singles players do not always make the best doubles pairing as we swept them away in 3 comfortable sets, albeit coming back from 9-6 down in the third end.

This I am reliably informed by Laikram was his first doubles defeat of the season, anywhere!!!
