It didn’t feel like an 8-2 but it was so obviously very happy with that. 

The first game set the tone really as Johnny recovered the first leg from leg points down and then in the second leg despite being 6-2 down he somehow managed to come back to win it 11-9 which broke Mikey’s resolve and Johhny won the third leg easily. 

Mike had come in as a reserve at the last moment due to an injury to Terry and is yet to regain match fitness and Peter took full advantage, never looking in trouble. 

George never likes playing me and so it proved in our game. 

Mike then played Mikey in a cracking game that was won by the player playing at the stage end in every leg including the fifth when the player at that end was in front at each half of the leg. Despite Mike winning the most points Mikey won the all-important most legs. 2-2, all to play for.

 Unfortunately, that was as good as it got for Karma as Castaways then won the rest of the games.

 Johnny managed to win all his singles three straight, I managed to beat Peter in a very tight four legger and then struggled to beat Mikey in five.

 Mike managed to win out over Geroge in four. 

Johnny and I then took on Mikey and Peter in the doubles and eased to a three straight win, 

It was agreed, an enjoyable evening for all despite the result, just what this league is about!
