Our match last night resulted in a 7-3 win including a maximum for Pete in his first match this season though still awaiting an operation. 

Johnny lost one to Bing and his combined Penhold/long pimples style in five, his own backhand pimples possibly did him no favours against an opponent he normally beats. 

I lost to Petko in five, falling foul of his pimples, and then also lost to Bing in four with the last two legs being deuces, one leg settled by an interruption casing a delay to my final serve and then the other losing to a faint edge followed by a dead net. Them’s the breaks. 

Unfortunately I had to also play for Exiles one on the adjacent table in their Central Division League 2 match, and bizarrely proceeded to win all three three straight proving styles count for everything as on that table it was three up and coming youngsters who found my serves to and wipe on wipe off blocks too much for them. A disheartening night for them altogether as Chris Penrose and Tony Catt also won their games three straight and combined to do the same in the doubles so it was 30 legs to 0!
