Match Report
With nothing on the result, almost everyone from both squads available, and wanting to play, we had a rare opportunity to play a 4 v 4 match on two adjacent tables. All play all in the singles and everyone plays a doubles, but each side had one player, who’s games (including the doubles) didn’t count for the official match score.
Above the score in the brackets next to the players’ names represents what the players won in the official match and the figure to the right includes the extra match as well.
Scorecard with "extra matches".
NWB vs Castaways - 020425
Ironically Nat West won the official match 6-4 but lost the overall match 8-10. This also means that Castaways have that ironic position that they have wo"n one less than Nat West but finish above them in the table on points gained.
A few stories form the night to recount. Pete losing to Les when he had to play straight away when walking in the door just like last week against Jai.
Chris imperious in his singles but unable to carry Gareth in the doubles.
Castaways’ players all winning 2 in the overall match.
Tony Catt having a good night winning three but losing out to Pete.
Gareth having a tough night but did get a leg.
Castaways proving their doubles pedigree winning both.
One five legger all night and only six four leggers so eleven three leggers including both doubles.
Everyone agreed it was a great night and should be staged again should circumstances allow.
