We’ll take the points but not the credit for this result as Steve Fagan had an off day and was
never, as they say, at the races. [Had he been a horse he may well have been put down].

We hope he is his usual self for the return fixture.

The scorecard tells its own story but the Waterhouse/ Fagan encounter could have gone either way,

With Fagan leading 5-0 when they changed ends in the 5^th set, Steve was entitled to claim the victory , and indeed had 3 match points, but Geoff was determined to emulate Flavinda and I and fought tooth and nail to recover the lost ground and nick it at the death.

The wooden spoon is still there to be won!
