Match Report

To end the first half Castaways took on Employment who always have the potential to cause an upset or two. However, Emp had two matches on adjacent tables with another match in the Central league taking place on the same night so had to split their squad. Anita was the designated “doubling up” player.

Not too much remarkable about the match six three straight games two four leggers, and two five leggers, however only one went the way of Emp – Paul getting a not totally unexpected win over Neil though the scores were somewhat strange, -6, 7, -5, 4 and 0 (zero)! No excuses for Neil, Paul played well and was a different player once in front.

Neil was also involved in the other five legger with Anita taking him all the way before losing to 7.

Frank had a quite tough night but learnt a lot – his words.

Paul was happy with his one win but felt he could have got a little bit more out of the evening.

Anita did exceptionally well to play her six singles and a doubles, all in one night.

For Castaways a very rare “same team” for the third match running. Pete was as clinical as usual although he did concede a leg to Anita.

Pat had another good evening only dropping a leg to Paul but still managed a good maximum.

So, Castaways again head the table at Xmas, as they have done for the last three or four seasons, but will it finally be enough to stay there to the end of the season, only time will tell!
