Match Report

This was always going to be a difficult fixture for PRO so looking at the positives we again improved on our first half result and closed the gap on Outcasts and Treasury in the fight to avoid relegation. Les was late arriving so matches played out of sequence.

Andrew Johnson has an uncanny knack of turning out against us (twice last season) and if I remember correctly, he has only ever lost one match, against George Buck. Again proving too powerful, dispatching Ian in 3 very one sided sets.
Ian also lost to Les in the only other match won 3-0.

It really is a funny old game where styles can often decide the outcome of matches, Ian beat Andrew relatively comfortable in 4 ends, whereas both Jai and I lost to him by the same margin. Having previously practised against Les and Andrew it helped and hindered my cause.

Les is not having the best of season, especially set against his own very high standards, but Jai deserves a special mention for beating him in 5 tense ends.

To be honest, I would've settled for the 3 points  at the beginning, but with Jai and I losing in 5 ends in the doubles we could so easily have contrived for a draw or narrow loss.

With 3 matches to play, one against Morpeth A and two against Outcasts we may yet live to fight another day.
