Match Report

Boxley 2 recorded a narrow  6-4 victory over Luton 4 at the Blue Bell Village Hall, thereby completing a seasonal double over the visitors. Luton were ahead in this match up to the 8th singles courtesy of an opening singles win by Keith Ball who came back from a 2 leg deficit to defeat Lyndon Gurr. He added a 2nd victory over Derek Myers also in 5 legs but lost out to treble winner Barry Roles. Brian Peaper also defeated Myers in 5 legs and Mick Barber got his reward  for commitment to the cause (walking to the venue from some distance after car trouble) to hit past Myers for his single win. Gurr recovered from his early loss to get a brace and joined Roles in the deciding Doubles victory. So a close match and the players then faced another battle - finding a route home through the overnight road closures at the top of Bluebell Hill !
