This match produced the first drawn result in Division One this season which is quite remarkable given its week 9 and the half way point of the 2021/22 campaign. The result was predictable,however, given the fact that Boxley 1 and Rainham 3 have almost identical records and sit next to each other in mid table. Boxley needed the Doubles at the end of the evening to achieve the draw after the ever-improving Tim Davie posted a hatrick of wins. He was well supported by Jazz Plaha who unleashed some impressive forehand smashes to beat Lyndon Gurr and Gary Hentschel but went down to Barry Roles in a 5 legger. The Boxley trio all took advantage of a rusty Mike Chambers who was making his first competitive appearance for 2 years, deputising for the injured Jim Davie.
