Match Report

Although  Cliff ran out 9,1 winners, the match was closer than the scoreline suggests. Howard captain Alex Clarke can count himself unlucky, losing two fifth leggers. Firstly he was just edged out by Dave McAulay 11,7 in the fifth and then against the old warhorse and former medway champion Alan Longhurst, who was blown away in the first two legs before showing some grit and determination to win 11,5 in the fifth. Roger Morley was also playing well and was top class, not missing a forehand in blowing away a lack lustre Dave McAulay three straight. Robert Jaroszynski played well in patches but couldn't trouble the scorecard.  The player of the night was the ever reliable Chris Drury who won all of his fairly comfortably, picking up from where he left off the previous campaign,he will be hoping for another 80% average this season!. The doubles was won by Cliff to complete the 9,1 victory.
