Match Report

Sturdee can count themselves very unlucky to only go home with 1 point. Four matches went to the fifth with only Wayne Young's brilliant fifth leg win over Alan Watson to show for it. The Sturdee player was two legs up, and it looked as if the momentum had swung the other way, when losing the next two, but he kept his nerve to win 11,5 in the fifth. Dave Bonner was also unlucky to just go down 12,10 in the fifth against Alan Watson, what would have been a fantastic victory. Tim Vaughan has been in good form and looked like pulling off a great scalp, but was  just edged out, 11,6 in the fifth against Howard's Simon Forest. Graham French was in his usual sparkling form, not losing one leg in his treble. The doubles ended up 12,10 in the fifth to Howard to secure the 9,1 triumph, but probably not a true reflection on the night's proceedings
