Match Report

A Valentines day massacre for Luton as Sturdee produced a terrific result to climb up the table. Dave Bonner was in tremendous form, picking up his first maximum of the campaign, the best being  his fifth leg win over Will Wrapson. The Luton player looked to be heading for victory, going into a two legs to one lead but the Sturdee played produced his best to win the last two legs 11,8, 11,6 to squeeze home.  Tim Vaughan was also involved in a fifth leg marathon with Will Wrapson, finally winning 11,9 at the death. Wayne Youngs was equally impressive, not losing one leg in his treble, overcoming Ross Childs, Josh Sayer and Will Wrapson fairly comfortably.  Ross Childs looked like he might spoil the party  winning the fourth leg 11,4  against Dave Bonner, but once again, the Sturdee player showed grit and determination to take the fifth 14,12.
Only the doubles victory spared Luton's blushes and stopped the whitewash, a great evenings work from the home side
