League Update 30th July
Sacriston Aces have completed their fixtures in division two of the  Northumbria Summer League and are virtually certain to have won the division.  Their success has largely been due to the inclusion of the Polish player,  Waldemar Dzwonkowski in all of their matches. He was far too good for this  division and won every one of his 42 matches without dropping a single  game.North Fire are in second place and Karen Henry was their star player in a 6 – 4 victory over Cramlington Cobras but they need to win all three of their  final matches with a 10 – 0 score to stop Sacriston taking the title.
Cramlington Casuals are well clear at the top of the first division after  their 8 – 2 win over Cramlington Stingers thanks to unbeaten performances by  Andrew Wilkinson and Steve Penman. Dave Pringle and John Williamson were in good  form for Springwell A, winning all of their team’s six sets against Riding  Mill.
Three teams, Matfen B, Cramlington Corinthians and Sacriston Bombers, are  in contention to win division three with Matfen B currently holding top spot but  they suffered an 8 – 2 defeat away to the Bombers who have a couple of matches  in hand. Simon Hackett, playing in only his second match of the season won all  of his sets for the winning side. Cramlington Corinthians ran out 9 – 1 victors  in their derby match with Cramlington Knights with Alan Hedley and Paul Jamieson  both getting hat-tricks.
Brandon and Byshottles hopes of winning division four received a set back  when they were held to a draw for the second successive week, this time by  NESLC. Simon Knopf won all of his singles but Henry Davies and John Spencer both  lost out to Russell Roper and Pat Thomas who also won the doubles.
