Hello again folks
I have to inform you of an amendment to Joe’s funeral arrangements. When I saw Pauline on Thursday she told me Joe’s funeral was next Thursday 25th but Joe’s daughter (also Pauline) rang me last night to say her mam had got confused with the dates and his funeral is in fact on next WEDNESDAY 24th at Gateshead Crematorium at 1.45 pm as per the notice in yesterday’s Chronicle.
It is family flowers only but those who wish, may leave a donation in lieu, at the service, to be sent to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Gateshead in recognition and appreciation by Joe’s family for all the excellent care and treatment they had given him over the last 3 - 4 years.
I have received this email this morning from Norman Badger of Ouston TTC
Hello Folks
It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Joe passed away in hospital on Friday 12thAugust. Joe’s wife Pauline rang to let me know yesterday. Joe had been poorly and in ill health over the last 3 years and, more recently, over the last 3 – 4 months in particular. He was admitted to hospital last week after suffering from breathing difficulties.
Joe was an extremely nice man and a ‘top bloke’ who was well liked and respected by everyone who knew him and played table tennis with/against him. He was a very competitive player in both his table tennis and also his golf which was his other passion. He was a great servant to our Club over the last 45 years and he will be sadly missed by all our members and all others who knew him, especially by myself and my wife Pat who were great friends with him and Pauline.
We send our condolences and sympathy to Pauline at this very sad time.
I do not have any details of the funeral as yet, but as soon as I find out, I will forward these on via e-mail so that those who are interested may attend.
Norman
