League update 20th November

The top two sides in the Premier Division of the Northumbria League both recorded big victories with North East Chinese Association defeating Cramlington Tigers 10 - 0 and

Cramlington Casuals accounting for St. Chads by the same score. NESLC Eagles also ran up a big score of  9 - 1 when beating Cramlington Stingers.

Young Peter Smallcombe who plays for the Casuals did extremely well at the Tipton Grand Prix when he reached the final of the band three event but unfortunately lost out to Carl Baldry of Cornwall. He had earlier reached the semi finals of the Band four before losing to Scotland's Danny Bajwa.

Another Casuals player, Andrew Wilkinson is now at number two in the latest National Veterans rankings.

Another veteran, Tony Gelder, was unbeaten for Mount C in division one who beat Tyneside A to go one point ahead of Cramlington Reivers at the top of Division One. Third placed Old England Jacks failed to win for the first time this season when held to a draw by Mitford whose Mick Bull won all of his sets.

The performance of the week was probably in Division Four when the Cramlington Falcons young side held Ouston C to a draw with thirteen year old Archie Stokes getting two sets, his twin bother Archie and eleven year old Oliver Ho each managing one and the twins winning the doubles set. A hat trick from Jamie Milroy made sure that Ouston shared the spoils despite losing their 100 % record. The Falcons stay three points ahead of them at the top of the table although the latter do have a game in hand.

Brandon Anacondas go top of Division Two with a 10 - 0 victory over Cramlington Cobras with Mount E losing out to Matfen Senators and Division Three leaders Old England

FATTS shared the spoils with Saints, Barry Matthews getting a hat trick.
