Only one point now separates the top three teams in the Premier Division of the Northumbria League. North East Chinese Association and Mount A are just ahead of Cramlington Casuals although the Mount have played one game more. The Chinese side of Chun Yin Yu, Nuradin Muktar and junior Adam Webster edged ahead by beating Cramlington Stingers 10 - 0 although the Stingers were up against it when one of their players was forced to pull out at the last minute.
Graeme Barella and Anthony Ainley were unbeaten for Mount A as they defeated Cramlington Tigers 7 - 3 while Cramlington Casuals won 8 - 2 against Prudhoe and District A.
The other Premier Division match saw Dan Dodds and Jamie Dent get hat tricks for Mount B who beat Newton A 8 - 2.
It was a really good week for The Mount club with all five of their teams recording victories. In addition to the two Premier Division sides unbeaten performances by Tony Gelder and Dan Dodds helped the C team to success in Division One over Prudhoe B and an all round effort with two wins apiece from John Russell, Bill Edwards and Mike Bradley gave their D team a 7 -3 win over Cramlington Cobras in Division two. In the same division the E side had Alex Smith in fine form and his hat trick helped them to defeat Ouston B 7 - 3.
Matfen Tribunes were defeated for the first time in Division three in a top of the table battle against Old England FATTS whose Barry Matthews was unbeaten in a 7 - 3 victory.
Hat tricks from Peter Seago of Whitley Chapel and Steve Dawson of Saints helped their teams to narrow 6 - 4 wins against Cramlington Ravens and Cramlington Corinthians respectively.
The top two sides in the fourth division both had comfortable 9 - 1 victories with Ouston C defeating Cramlington Dragons and Cramlington Falcons accounting for the club's Magpies.
