Winter League Update and Table Tennis England cancels County Championships.
We had a good response to the winter league with 45 teams registered to play. Mark Kimberley spent a lot of time getting everything set up in Table Tennis 365 and we’re ready to go in January with a limited season of five divisions and teams playing each other once. However, with the November lockdown and the region being placed in Tier 3 without prospect of this being lifted in the new year makes that prospect unlikely.
We are keeping the situation under regular review and will let everyone know when conditions enable competitive table tennis to restart. Under the current guidelines we would require the region to be placed within Tier 1 and Table Tennis England to allow league competition to restart. Unfortunately we don’t yet have any dates for either of these requirements.
Additionally the County Championships for this season have been cancelled on the back of Table Tennis England cancelling a number of national “mass”events which includes the British league.
We will attempt to keep everyone up-to-date with any developments as they occur.
